Engine insulation, preparation for winter — logbook Toyota Ipsum 1998

      Toyota Ipsum 20 1998

I insulated the engine compartment with penofol in order to preserve the heat of the engine, to reduce it for a longer time in the cold. The end justified the means.

It turned out a removable sheathing that can be removed for the summer and put on for the winter.

1) I bought 1.5 meters of foam foam 5mm, and 10 special rivets
2) I attached it starting from the center to the sides
3) I cut off the excess

As a result, I got a decent heat saving when leaving the car for half an hour, at sub-zero temperatures overboard, and the engine was almost inaudible.

In Chita, when the temperature outside is -30 degrees, it's not like! Yes, and I save on warm-ups, it’s nice to come to the car in half an hour and see that the engine has not completely cooled down, then start and drive with a 20-second warm-up rather than 2-3 minutes))

That's right, warming up by warming up, and insulation will retain heat ~ 20% more over time

It happens with us and it drops for -40, I start the car, but with warming up every 3 hours. This summer I'm thinking of insulating the car, stop raping it)
