Another reincarnation. From springs to springs — logbook Toyota Land Cruiser 1983
Maybe someone thinks that 40 is a museum piece and should be preserved in its original form ... but I think that a real SOLDIER did not deserve such a "naphthalene" future! As in the song by Makarevich "... in order not to become such a museum, it's better to go to the bottom in time ...".
And since it’s still too early for us to go to the bottom, we are trying on relative innovations developed for subsequent TLC models.
So, the springs (front) were removed and replaced with combat (rally) struts with RaceRunner coilovers. To fix the bridge, trailing arms from TLC 70 to 90 were used. That's where Panhard's thrust comes from. The rod will have to be cut and made adjustable.
New strut mounts, longitudinal rod mounts and houses for Panhard rods were developed and welded.
There were no ambush. When the car was lowered onto wheels, it turned out that the spring rate was excessively high. When loading 3 people onto the bumper, the spring ... did not compress even a millimeter! Therefore, the replacement of the spring with a softer one and the suspension tuning are coming.
And finally, a small photo report made by Odysseus (I was so worried that I didn’t take a single frame at all :( )

It turned out just right! The only pity is that the springs were not lucky immediately. But I know it won't stop you.
Particularly struck by the transformation due to the removal of the front axle. Now the back should be moved back by 5-10 cm for harmony.
Due to the bending of the frame, you can’t carry it back very much.
As they say, not everything is a carnival for a cat!
Nothing, but let's delve deeper into the question :)

so I look at the photo and I think that Alpha H1 is more and more like 40vku. =) especially from the side
It turned out interesting, the springs are much more interesting along the moves) the bridge after the lift was left a little despite its transfer
Coil overs are all serviced. Everything is changing there.
Only this, you need to pour special oil there.
This has been discussed somewhere before, if I find it I'll post a link.
Someone pours and substitutes, but most of the exploiters in that dispute still said that what the manufacturer says is better.

It’s already bad for me how much I can imagine how much coilovers cost)
Or maybe it’s tough due to the fact that it is already clamped? If it is dissolved a little on the counter?
really not expensive. I used them. But the funny thing is that there is no used RiceRunner (in the usual sense)! It is fully serviced.

Is the correct amount of oil in there?
here immediately and go to adjust the struts and replace the springs.
They bled the gas from the ammorts. Fully. Nothing.
And the spring is not strongly clamped - it has both the lower and upper rings to adjust the lift.

In the description of the machine, I immediately wrote:
6 — Spring suspension rear. (I’m not crying anymore, I’m cutting in the name of a higher goal.
Well, I got hooked and the front springs went to waste.
So we are waiting for the continuation.
And what do you have on the spline connection for a sticker such an ACTION, or the guys from the studio were joking :)))
Submit new photos! These are before the final welding, before the trip to check the castor. And the panhard is not yet adjustable.
Sanya, let's put back the springs and make a new complex photo session :) But right now he is dirty and getting ready for the operation.
