Our hands are not for boredom (Ennoble the trunk). Episode II. — Toyota Camry, 3.0 liter, 1994
Over the past two weeks, work with the trunk has progressed a little more =)
The beginning can be seen here www.drive2.ru/cars/toyota…/288230376151796338/#post
First I flipped the wheel in the trunk
Here in this position it comes from the factory, which in my opinion is not practical, because. a sufficient amount of usable space remains unused.
Slightly modified the spare tire mount.
The chmoshny floor of the trunk will be painted before the completion of the work, so please do not pay attention to the condition of the floor =)
And this is the result.
And the tire compressor fits perfectly there, and there is still a little room for some little things =)
But turning the wheel over did not pass without a trace, it began to stick out a little from its niche
I had to slightly raise the entire floor, simultaneously increasing the rigidity of the entire structure Minus one more potential problem =)
Holes in the internal elements will reduce the weight a little, and then they will still be useful to us (but more on that next time)
For the strength of the connection, I smeared it with PVA glue ...
And put everything on the screws.
It turned out like this (view from below)
While the glue was drying and there was free time, something had to be done!
A small order came to me just in time =)
This is nothing more than an umbrella holder, which I spied on a Mercedes W221.
And I safely bought myself a couple, the second device will later be installed in the Golf =)
Installation took less than 30 minutes
And finally, the umbrella has found its permanent place of residence, otherwise it’s not good to hang out on the back shelf =)
Many thanks to the German engineers! =)
The glue is dry, continue.
The cover of the spare wheel compartment must somehow hold on, for this the hood stop was taken from the Citroen C4 (the first thing that turned up at hand =) )
And successfully, without unnecessary troubles, introduced into the design
Something like this. The main thing is holding! =)
Then I treated the entire structure with nitro-lacquer, in order to subsequently protect it from moisture.
In the meantime, the varnish dries, you have to use your free time (which is very little) to the maximum
Why were bought a pair of nets for the sidewalls.
Two because one is very short and they had to be spliced together to the required length
It turned out, of course, not very neatly, but branded ones from Mercedes (and again praise the Germans for the idea!) For some reason, they are not in the spare parts catalog. But nevertheless, what happened, it happened =)
To fix the mesh and at the same time make it easily removable!, I had to make this bracket =)
And fix one on the wheel arch, and the other opposite, on the rear panel.
And we got such a pocket (the one that is larger and lower), which, moreover, can also be easily (in a couple of seconds) removed
I’ll try not to delay the next part, as with this one, but I don’t promise, work ... =)
Rom42
in the Passata B6, the umbrella is definitely hidden in the end of the door)
In! Passat too. Thanks for the comment.
Yeah, there is such a thing there! All the same, the gloomy German genius is mighty! =)
Now I understand) In my opinion, in some model of Mercedes, an umbrella hides in the door ... Somehow I will find a photo - I'll show it.
I completely agree, and there may even be more of these moments than for such a placement =)
But I’m tired of riding on the back shelf, Down in front of the back seat, it’s also not an option, they’ll tear it all off with my feet.
So again I went about the compromise =)
The location of the umbrella in the trunk is a rather controversial point, to be honest)
Yes, I have it, I don’t have much time. =)
At work, we focus on quality, not quantity, and there are no insurance cars at all, so free windows are issued. Although it would be better if there weren’t (windows) =)
You can order at any auto shop selling spare parts for Mercedes.
On the 9th photo there are original numbers on the boxes.
Appetite comes with eating! =)
In the process, I had a desire to make more rails there, and partitions like in the Audi ku7 it seems, but it needs to be done all over again ... Not not now, maybe on the Golf or on the next car. =)
So it was still necessary to get into this depot, besides, they don’t seem to stretch there.
I paid 400 rubles for each holder.
It looks exactly like a toilet bowl! I didn’t even think about it ... =) ) ) )
That would be a cool toilet bowl if I attached a gas stop to this cover, as I wanted earlier =)
How much did the umbrella holder cost?
The nets could not be from a Mercedes, but twisted with an SV in a locomotive depot =)
Opening the spare wheel compartment is a bit like a toilet lid 8) Only there is no stop in it and the lid falls all the time and usually at the wrong time
tell them that this is a new government program we have such, soon everyone will be driving antiques
I don’t want to go to the autotaz... They torture the poor fellow. They would let him die in peace.
And the Japs will be far away, I'm afraid I won't get there =) ) )
write to the Japs, maybe they will take you))
or autotazu, they will know who to give their billions to!
I have had nets for a long time, consider how I bought it and installed it, but it was all somehow handicraft, everything interfered. So I decided to take a close look at the problem =)
I have been wanting a grid for a long time, but there’s nowhere to hook it along the way, everything flies around the trunk, although it seems that I managed to find a combination in which everything is relatively motionless, of course it would be more reliable in the grid
The umbrella holder is generally clear, you need to buy one for yourself and screw it into the trunk
Perfect solution! By the way, I also fixed the spare tire, now at least there is where to remove all the crap.
