part5. about how the turbine wanted to see how the engine works :) - Toyota Mark II, logbook 3.0, 1995
after he began to ride on 2jz-gte, all sorts of experiments began on parallelizing turbines, altering the manifold. etc. the fact is that on the aristo there is a sequential system, but on the 90th body it cannot be implemented in any way, the lower part of the collector with a damper rests on the steering. so there was one way out, to parallel the turbines.
Did. a problem arose, the second turbine began to die, it turned out that the collector was arranged differently than on 1zhz-gte. all gases blow mostly to the second turbine. because of this, in third gear blows 1.5 points., without any boosts.
After conferring with acquaintances from Novosibirsk, I decided to redo the manifold so that the excess pressure from the second turbine would immediately go into the exhaust. It was necessary to drill a door in one place, and muffle it in another.
in general, the collector has been redone and successfully installed in place. but the whole thing ended badly. For some reason, the actuator did not open, and all the pressure bled into the return line to the engine. the impeller from the turbine flew into a pair of cylinders, broke 2 pistons, and tore 2 sleeves. this has already been shown in the autopsy.
advice: experiments are very expensive :) and my friend bocha with a similar project still drives 1.5 points. the collector did not have time to brew and remake it, and thank God.
no worries, life goes on :)
Well, here's the thing, everyone decides for himself :)))
that setup on the Selick was repeated several times, because. the person tested the components with high quality :)) the rear sight successfully pulled all the rivals in its class for several seasons, even despite the absence of nitrous oxide - its engine never smelled nitrous oxide.
so that the reliability of the components has been tested.
PS ... for some reason, China from the American ebay is many times better than China from other places. xs, but I swore off buying something serious Chinese not from America.
there are a lot of china on ebay. although people seem to ride on Chinese collectors. but the Japanese ones also burst in essence. but I don’t know the Chinese turbos, they seem to balance them. but I did it, I already have enough experiments, they come out expensive :)
in possession a few years ago, as they screwed the XX single on JZ onto the selicusupra - a sweet deal. Collector, turbo, downpipe, wastegate - everything was taken from ebay. Not cheap, but not outrageously expensive either.
yes, I looked at the barrel recently. no problem at all, I got out and unscrewed it. Well, I was shaved with a single 4 years ago, when I was standing 1zhz, a friend from Yahi didn’t buy me an IHI 7 turbo, there the whole whale was from the 70th supra, with a cooler, etc. even. I even gave more money than it turned out, then the bet played. to see the comrades were afraid of competition then. and so it would be the first 90th with a single. but not until then :)
I like the single with how immediately the turbine becomes available. You can probably change it in half an hour :)
I’ve all left for 0.5 ride, but you need to immediately put the single and not any problems)))))
on eBay it is noted that it is not a fake, the same pump 044 or thial wastegate)))))
