Sequential automatic transmission - Toyota Aurion, 3.5 L, 2007
The automatic transmission used on the Aurion allows you to choose the operating mode according to your mood - either "automatic", which takes all the care of shifting gears, or active driving with manual shifting. (But also without a clutch).
For those who love both sports and recreation - complete freedom. In automatic mode, the car behaves extremely correctly: the Grade Logic Control system automatically turns on, for example, the third speed, if the descent is too steep and it is useful to increase the deceleration by also braking the engine. If braking from high speed is suddenly interrupted, acceleration starts from the correct gear. It is impossible to engage a low gear at high speed, just as it is impossible to engage a high gear when the vehicle is stationary. In a fast corner, the gears are engaged in a downward direction, which allows you to enter a corner at high speed and pass it gently and with a margin.
Yet many accuse automatic transmissions of "infringing on driver's sovereignty." With all due respect to the smartest electronic "brains" that store thousands of critical situations and ways out of them, many drivers want to decide for themselves when and which stage should be turned on. TOYOTA went to meet their wishes. Moreover, its gearbox allows you to switch faster than "mechanics".
The lever does not need to be moved in two directions (forward, backward, etc.). It moves only forward (when shifting to an overdrive) and only backward (when shifting "down"). One touch - after a push, the lever itself returns to its original central position. Those who know how to change gears on a motorcycle will be able to more easily imagine this algorithm. The error is excluded - after the first one follows the second, after the second - only the third - the box does not allow "jumping". On the dashboard, the indicator also highlights the corresponding number.
In manual mode, you can crank the engine up to the maximum speed, you can switch in the range of maximum torque. Distractions are minimal, and manual overclocking dynamics are much better. Pleasure too. We can only add that the sequential principle of switching (sequential) came from Formula 1, where, as you know, TOYOTA is not a beginner. Another and very significant advantage of the automatic transmission from TOYOTA is the price, and it is significantly lower than for cars of this type and with similar capabilities.
To be honest - the drive mode is quite satisfactory, sequential is the only way to play around. As far as I understand, our boxes are identical ... Like the engines
It already depends on the user's skill, but at the same time you spin the movement and 5-6 thousand at the initial stage, this is necessary for a jerk, this is the principle of "throw" on the drive
I have exactly the same car. 6 means 6 speeds are used. It does not force-change the speed as on other machines, but simply limits the number of speeds used. And if, say, choose 1 speed, accelerate, switch to 2 speeds, then 3, and so on. It turns out slower than in automatic mode.
And 4? If I have a six-step. For a year and a half, there are no complaints and I drove straight, everything is normal
This is not how it works. 4 means that it uses 4 speeds, 3 - 3 speeds and so on. There is no need to talk about any manual control. Well, yes, it gives some additional option, but this is not the correct box.
Because I am not explaining this tiptronic. This is just a limiter for the number of speeds used. As on old machines there are modes 2-3
He is already spinning. such a box is convenient only in the mountains or dragging a trailer. But if you drive aggressively on a regular drive, then it will work the same way. Sports mode just doesn't learn and always works the same way. that's the whole difference. It is impossible to switch the speed forcibly, it's a pity.
you have a box in the Kalda tiptronic, which gear you choose on this one and it goes like a mechanic ...
