1ZZ Ring replacement — logbook Toyota Will VS 2001
Ring replacement
After sitting and reading on various Toyota forums a review about 1 zz engines, I involuntarily began to notice oil zhor although this is a very big word, well, it ate up a bit). Well, all the same, my beloved machine decided that it deserves a state close to ideal. It was decided to change the rings and valve stem seals. The following spare parts were purchased:
caps 16 pcs-2200r
piston rings -1850r
gasket -1500
muffler gasket -500r
antifreeze 450r
oil for running in semi-synthetics 400r + filter 150
new NGK candles -310r.
Keys in the total amount of 500 r.
In total, it turned out with some materials not included in the list in the region of 10 tr. I WILL DO IT! I downloaded in advance from the Internet all the information on the process of disassembling and assembling my engine, thanks to everyone who was not too lazy to lay it all out for general use. Personally, I used this link toyota-club.net/files/06-…-10/06- 07-20_rem_zz-1.htm. Well, the disassembly process is no easier than the assembly process, the first stupor during disassembly was how to lock the engine to unscrew the pulley bolt. stuck a screwdriver and stopped, how well done Yapi, everything that they have done can be unscrewed.Of course, you can’t get to all the bolts so easily, but it’s still tolerable until you get to the power steering pump, it was something with something. was removed. It was 2 times more difficult to put in place later, well, I worked so hard with a file (and what to do), everything fell into place as it should. The whole day was spent disassembling the engine to victory, but the entire piston was removed from the cylinder, it was very interesting what is there? The result of the first day: disassembled to the required, the piston removed, the verdict was oil scraper rings. from cheap ones. The search for keys did not give results, I bought only a head for 10 and only for a small square, but you need a big one because the torque wrench was a big square, having phoned a familiar minder, it was decided to rent these missing keys from him, but only the next day. The 2nd day passed, i.e. the second half of this day in the process of cleaning the pistons from soot and replacing valve stem seals, drying out and drying out is also a very interesting moment, these tiny crackers fly out, but for now you will find it)
Day 3 took the missing keys and the assembly process started, since everything was successful up to 2 moments 1st, when disassembling, I didn’t notice the code, the belt tensioner bolt flew out and searched for a very long time, rummaged through the whole garage, thought where it rolled up, and he fell like this bastard near the steering rack and lies there), 2 the moment was already indicated earlier, this is the valiant GUR pump. The most annoying time of 11 am, the light in the box turns off, all that was left was to put on the belt, I had to turn everything up and go home. .Satisfied with the result, the failure is gone, it has become much faster at the moment, we are running the rings (I ride quietly)!
this is a sore 1zz, I also did it, but after 20k, Zhorik reappeared at 7k 100g 150, it was necessary to put the pistons modified to put more oil extraction holes in them. good luck to you, well done, maybe it’s just me
After the purchase, the mileage was 85 tons, I filled in the manol (it’s bullshit and not oil IMHO), 10 thousand before the repair, I filled in the mobil 3000, the photo shows how the valve cover was cleared of it))) It ate differently before the repair, if not driving around the city then practically nothing happened, but on the highway 140-160 then 1 liter per 1000 or maybe more. But after that, not a drop from replacement to replacement)))
Respect to those ... vapshche straight cool! tell me how much the motor ate? oils! And what kind of oil did you put in? what is soot?
Good day! Thank you for the detailed progress report! I also want to replace at least the rings and oil seals on my 1 zz fe, and we'll see. In the photo in the article I saw drilled oil drain holes on the pistons. Can you tell me please, did you drill the oil drain holes? If yes, what size? Did you do any extra stitching? How was the engine after that? Thanks in advance.
The car didn’t ride for so long, it was sold about a year after replacing the rings, after that I had a couple more 1 zz in the operating room))), there was an easy capital replacement of the piston rings. channels probably zhor reappeared in 50 thousand, but it was necessary to increase the hole, but this has already been done in other operations and with other patients))
As a result, after so much time, did the work done solve the problem of the maslozhora and did it reappear?
