SWAP 4A-GE - lost count of days WIRE (from 24 to 21-10-2010) - Toyota Carina E, 2.0 liter, 1992

SWAP 4A-GE 24 21-10-2010 Toyota Carina E 20 1992

Dealt with wiring. Having read that it takes two evenings to wire, armed with wire cutters, a soldering iron, electrical tape and a pile of documentation, they set to work. The first day (Sunday) and the evening of the second day were simply comprehended, developed a methodology, so to speak. We made a pinout of the old braid, simply rewrote all the contacts from each block of the passenger compartment by color, and painted where they go along the engine compartment braid, made a mistake, did not pin out the connectors going to the fuse box, just later experienced some discomfort due to lack of data. But you can’t take us with your bare hands, everyone rang according to the schemes.
The next step was to pin out the "black octopus" and compare the data obtained with the old scythe. They immediately signed the black wires and took them out of the connector. Almost all the wires have found their purpose, only the conduit wiring remains.
Under the hood, they replaced the wire going from the battery terminal to the fuses (it seemed short at the black) Power wires were connected according to the principle of the old braid. Having worked a little with a soldering iron, wire cutters and crimping. Crimped soldering points for greater confidence. By the way, a curious observation, in the old braid the wires were also crimped, and for insulation outside they were glued with Velcro, they did the same)
The pinout of the connectors on the fuse box with the remnants of the old braid took a little longer, so if we immediately thought to ping all the contacts, but the hands on the first day itched apparently louder than the mind)))
Having pinged the connectors and found them in the Black braid, they checked them by connecting to the box. It is on which leg of the relay or fuse it fits. Since there was a box from black, they did the same thing on it))) thereby they wanted to achieve the most accurate connection, reduce the chances of an error, so to speak,
we'll check later, now it's not about that) ask while we remember, although I think we will not forget it soon. We were late for a couple of days until 3 nights) The rights to the next day, we first carried out an audit of what was done, and I must say in vain.
Oh yes, that's what I forgot, due to the fact that we did all this indoors on a large desktop with everything you need at hand, and under the fifth fulcrum of a soft chair, it took much more time than in the garage. Well, let's hope it's not in vain
P.S. Another 7 wires had to be pulled from under the hood to the passenger compartment; in the course of their pulling, they had to be lengthened. The power wire to the passenger compartment could be used from the black box, but then the DOME fuse would be behind the dashboard, so we decided to pull it.

Greetings, tell me, how many salon chips do you have, in addition to three gray chips for brains?
