Camera in the car - Toyota MR-S, 1.8L, 2002
I have long wanted to somehow attach a camera to a car for filming a ride. Here I was recently looking for a charger for a camera and came across a tripod in the car from the Mio communicator (which was broken a long time ago). Here it is:
A special holder for the communicator itself is attached to it:
And it is attached to the glass on a suction cup:
It was necessary to somehow connect the platy guard and the video camera itself. For this case, a saw with a blade for metal and a bag of 6x20 bolts were purchased. The photo below shows how I have already sawed off unnecessary parts and enlarged the hole for the bolt:
Finally, I connected them:
It all took me 40 minutes, since I had to saw the bolt (it was very long) and file some parts that didn’t want to be connected:
And finally, I installed the camera in the car:
Field tests have shown that the camera is critical of the road surface and shakes it even on small bumps. But there's nothing you can do about it.
PS The video will be a little later, since there is no desire to digitize now.

It does not dangle in front of the nose, it is on the side and does not block anything at all. It's just that photography has such an angle. It won't fall off 100%, you can't even tear it off with your hand - it's not just a suction cup, but there is a small lever that pulls it off - a vacuum is formed.
The camera certainly shakes, but it will shake even if you attach it to the panel - you can't get away from it. Look at the recordings of any races with a camera installed in the car - the picture is always shaking.

And what kind of sucker?
It was easier then to immediately buy a special car camera, with specials. holders. Better yet, a few, to hang a couple more outboard ...
I tried to shoot with the existing camera. Why buy something if you already have everything you need ?!

I had an idea to make a hidden camera in the car, for capturing video to the hard drive. At night, you can take pictures of any "passers-by", or in case of an accident, you can add a weighty argument to your words, but not yet before. And as for shaking, she can hook it on some kind of shock-absorbing stretch.
Well, for example, I don't understand why people take SUVs. For me - either a jeep or a car. But I'm not starting to write on your wall that your car is nonsense. The taste and color of markers are different, IMHO!
