Suspension replacement (tuning for stock) - Toyota Celica, 1.8 L, 2003

Suspension replacement tuning for stock - Toyota Celica 18 L 2003

I'll make a reservation right away - the replacement is not quite usual. More often they change the stock for something more interesting, but I did the opposite. Everything is in order.

Got the car in July, didn't notice any problems at first. After many cars that I had to drive to my swallow, she seemed perfect in every way. But over time, I began to notice that the suspension pads. The suspension was not native, but Tanabe Sustec PRO. And then the troubles went. At first I heard the noise of bones (stabilizer struts), later I noticed that the left (passenger) front strut was knocking on bumps. (a standard problem on almost all cars - the driver often hits bumps on the passenger side, because he feels it worse). I decided to figure out what was the matter - it turned out that the rack was killed at zero + time was going on towards winter, and I didn't want to drive with such a low ground clearance in winter, especially considering the fact that it was my first winter in a car.
It was decided to do the following - for the winter, completely change the suspension to stock, restore the Tanabe over the winter and push it back in the spring.

He refused the idea of an independent replacement due to inexperience in matters of suspension and fear of messing up - which was the right decision. I came to a major service with a full set of original spare parts, from the racks themselves to all the rubber bands / gaskets. The replacement took just over 4 hours, but the main thing was that they did it correctly.

After a week of riding the new harness, I ran into two problems with the Tanabe and its recovery.

1 - The condition of the front struts was pretty average, and we could not find short stabilizer struts for this suspension model ... although all these were quite solvable issues, the second problem stopped ...

2 - Having driven a slightly elevated car for a week in absolute silence, I didn't want low suspension back. The car on the new one became obviously quieter, softer and a little higher (although the latter should probably be attributed to the minuses due to the loss in appearance). But common sense won out and it was decided to leave the stock suspension.

Having inserted a new suspension, I got
from the pros:

1-silence
2-softness
3-the ability to climb at least some curbs
4-NEW SUSPENSION, soft ride

of the minuses:
1 - the sight of the beauty lying on the belly disappeared;
2 - handling in corners has deteriorated, there are more rolls (although I try not to drive)

What happened to Tanabe?
Tanabe is now in the box and is waiting for the day of his recovery, but how soon he will be unknown.

Various options were considered, up to replacing the front struts with new ones (because the rear ones are in a chic condition), but as long as the car combines dynamics and comfort, I don't want to change anything.

And the point was to take a car with 2zz then, it was necessary to take it then with 1zz and an automatic machine - it has a lower fuel consumption and a smooth ride, and then throw the discs to 18 and put 16 - it will also have a positive effect on the smoothness of the ride))

I don't understand how engine power and suspension are related.
The meaning is simple - I wanted it, I bought it. Wanted, took off the suspension. If I want to, I'll put it back on. I don't strain

Do not listen to them!
This suspension is good, better than from TRD! Restore them ...

I'd restore Tanabe. I like it when you feel the car and how it handles easily and confidently. than softness and bend in the corners. Bring them back. in summer on them, and in winter on stock. but about TRD I disagree :))) they are not bad either. they are strong and almost eternal stands :)

Put the horse racks - sport, and you will forget about the rolls and you will maintain comfort (they are regulated by rigidity). In my opinion, the world has not yet invented better horses. I ride them myself.

And I like the stock ones)))) On such a car, there will be no comfort.
