The 2010 season is over… — Toyota MR2, 2.0 liter, 1997
On November 24, the summer sprint season ended, wonderfully organized by the guys from xrace and the Sosnovy Bor car club xrace-club.ru/index.php?o…task=view&id=189&Itemid=1 .
The last two stages - Sosnovy Bor on October 3 and the Parking Final on October 24 were as always interesting and rich in events. I think it's worth mentioning briefly.
So, on October 3, Sosnovy Bor brought together more than 80 participants in five test groups. The rains this time passed the date of the sprint race and the fight was supposed to be hard.
My first attempt was disappointing - I made enough mistakes "overshooting" the corners. The car turned very reluctantly - the asphalt was very cold and the handling shifted towards insufficient. As I was later told, they had never seen so much sliding of the mrka :) I
had to correct myself, and before the second attempt, I went to disturb the inhabitants of Sosnovy Bor with a loud exhaust sound and warm up the tires. It helped, the car went better, which made it possible to noticeably improve the time.
The third attempt due to the roll-on went even more confidently and the time improved again. A solid gap from the closest mono-drive rival has not been pleasing for a long time, because due to a lack of grip, I again failed to impose a fight on the best all-wheel drive cars - in absolute terms I am again the fourth.
It was not in vain that I was waiting for the awards - for the first place they presented a color printer, I was pleasantly surprised :)

Three weeks later, at the North Mall, the final of the summer series took place. It was already quite cold at night and everyone was afraid that there would be ice on the pavement, given that 2WD cars were the first to start, it could be fun =) Thank God there was no ice, but in the morning it was raining, which soon stopped, the track began to dry out, but we were already riding with might and main. At the acquaintance, I was very surprised - it was not just how much, but very slippery - most likely the reason for this was the asphalt rubberized by drifters, which, when wet, becomes excessively slippery. In this regard, everyone was driving quite slowly, there were no special incidents either. My attempts went fairly smoothly - I was driving calmly, smoothly working the gas and brakes. First place again for me, but dangerously close behind the Fiesta, despite the less powerful engine, in such weather, front-wheel drive may have given a certain advantage. Four-wheel drive was driving in the afternoon, when the track dried up and in general I ended up at the end of the top ten.

According to the results of the series in the XP3 class, I took first place with a 100% result - it seems that I should be happy, but somehow there is not much joy, just as there are no two-wheel drive cars that can really compete. More precisely, maybe there are cars, but either there is not enough preparation of equipment, or something else ... But there is no competition, there is no progress, and this is sad.
Next season they are preparing a new regulation, according to which I get into the absolute. And I like it - it will be difficult, but I want to show that there are some other cars besides evolutions and estiay%) We already have ideas of what to screw and tighten, we will try to bring them to life.
It's a little pity that the asphalt competitions are ending and winter is gradually coming. But nothing, but you can relax a bit, gather your thoughts — what to do and where to move on :) This year I decided not to torment the car with winter rides, although I will miss it, but I think this is the right decision.
Sanks!
As for the Porsche, I think yes, it can get solidly close, but still, due to objective reasons (for example, the same machine gun), it will be difficult to go around ...
I'm already going around ;) I won the 2011 season in the overall standings. I just don't come here and I wasn't in the mood to write. There are many nuances, of course, depending on the type of track, conditions, etc., but you can go around ...
