DLC1 engine diagnostics — logbook Toyota Corolla 1999
I have long wanted to do computer diagnostics of the engine. However, at the thought of doing in the service, the toad choked mercilessly. In the blog of the car Toyota Corolla Fulltime 4wd RusBiT , which I took as a role model, I saw how to do the diagnostics myself. I don’t think it makes much sense to post links like his and the process of working with the program. Therefore, I will describe the differences in my version of the diagnosis.
CarTester version 7091 downloaded here: rocketman.by.ru/
For starters, cable manufacturing. I took the "mother" COM port, a piece of wire from a regular USB-miniUSB adapter (cutting off both plugs) ... And that's it. The capacitor was not soldered between the legs. Why? Yes, because I thought that for data transmission over the Com-port over a distance of 1 m, interference protection is not really needed.
Next COM-USB adapter. The most inexpensive one based on the PL2303 chip was taken.
I found on the Internet drivers for an adapter with this chip specifically for Windows Vista (those that were for XP did not fit). Downloaded from here: forum.se-zone.ru/viewtopic.php?t=5686 I
connected the cable with the machine on one side and the adapter on the other, connecting it all to the laptop. In general, everything.
Then, following the instructions for the program, I warmed up the engine to 80 degrees. The warm-up speed as it warmed up dropped from 1450 rpm to 1000 rpm. Further tested at 2100 rpm, then at XX + "D". Here I was very surprised - 510 rpm. If I'm not mistaken, this is EXTREMELY small. What is the reason?
Here are the graphs:
First, by mistake, I gave gas to 4600 rpm, then XX at "P", Then 2100 at "P", then I drove it and stuck "D" right at such speeds (it can be seen), then just "D" at XX and, finally , XX to "N". At the same time, I looked at the indicators, they never went beyond the permissible limits (well, except for the XX revolutions).
As a result, I can say. Firstly, the eyes are afraid, but the hands are doing. And secondly, I'm glad that everything is in order with my engine

And you try. I think the algorithm of actions is not different. It is good to check the main pinout of the diagnostic connectors. You most likely have DLC2(round) or DLC3
I have a Karina E 1997.
there is no connector for this scanner
than and how to diagnose?
And even if you find something in English…
well, thanks for finding out…
I will go to my master…
Vobshchem it will not turn out at you to carry out diagnostics by the same means. You already have OBD2 protocol. And my previous one, i.e. OBD. Only if you look for programs somewhere on special forums.

Diagnostic info here: carina-e.ru/viewtopic.php?t=1145
But I don’t know about 2ZZ-GE diagnostics, ask right there on the forum what and how . Most likely we have different data exchange protocols.

The machine does not have a Com port. But she has a DIAGNOSIS connector under the hood and there are a lot of mom contacts. Here 3 wires are stuck in there, which, on the other hand, are soldered to the com-port, and it, in turn, is connected either to the computer directly or through an adapter to usb. Tomorrow I'll take a photo, I left the cable at work.
Having broken the brain, I remembered the action plan: run the program, go to the menu "File" --> "Comments to data". You write there in the "Additional description" and "reasons" what kind of heresy you want, the main thing is that there is something. Further "OK".
And now you click "File" - "Save As" - and enter a name and where to save
Yes, it happened to me too ... I
don’t remember right away how (after all, a year has already passed), but I defeated the program and saved the results to a file. I'll rummage in the old laptop now, maybe I'll remember
Today I did some test diagnostics. And I can not save the result to a file!
I don’t understand what the problem is, I click "Save As", she asks for comments on the data and that's it! Doesn't ask where to save or what to save.
If you need advice, even in absentia, read the forum to which I gave a link above, there are definitely people who understand the diagnosis of Toyota engines =)
Okay, I'll try to figure it out. Along the way, I am looking for a competent diagnostician in our city, if I have to turn to someone else :( But I want, of course, myself.
Yes, I didn’t really understand the graphs =) I only read the “user manual†for the program =)))
I, too, one of these days want to solder the cable and make diagnostics. Something my consumption increased and the dynamics disappeared ((After cleaning the BDZ, nothing has changed. Can you, if anything, help in deciphering the graphs? :)

I saw your record, I decided to do the diagnostics too, I bought a male, I downloaded a program, I took a laptop from a friend, I drove into the garage, I started connecting everything and then there is a problem in my connector there is no Te2 contact! all so upset came home and I don’t know what to do how to connect, tell me if you know!
you don’t have it under the hood, but there is in another connector under the steering column it is called dlc2

I know not, unfortunately. When Te2 and E1 are bridged, the brain goes into test mode. If there is no Te2, then the program simply has nowhere to read the parameters from. Alas(((
Hello) So you have the outputs E1, VF1, TE1, and TE2 connected to the machine so that it can be read? I just made the cable the same but did not connect TE1, but right now I’m sitting here thinking ... maybe because I didn’t cut TE1 ... or is it not important? I just saw that only E1, VF1 and TE2 were enough to connect ...
Each error has its own two-digit code. The light flashes a certain number of times at different intervals.
Myrg(0.5sec pause)myrg(1.5sec pause)myrg(0.5sec)myrg(0.5sec)myrg(0.5sec)myrg(4.5sec). The result is error code 24.
Accordingly, the difference between flashes in one ten is 0.5 seconds, between dozens is 1.5 seconds. between error codes 4.5 sec.
Wire, paper clip and anything conductive)))
Read www.autodata.ru/item.osg?idt=56&idn=1199 (somewhere in the middle of the page)
You can simply by jumping Te1 and E1, blinking JackieChan to read the error code of the engines (if any). A similar verification scheme for the box.
In general, the connector is intended for specialized scanners, which most likely have some proprietary algorithms for calculating parameters. And this program is useless for you.

It seems like this, but I don’t remember the shape of the connector already) It was a long time ago, and the car is no longer there
can i find it again? Ali hasn’t had that page for a long time, but there is interest ...
under Karina there is a scanner

I don’t have a big problem, I don’t have a COM port on my laptop, and I have to look for USB 2 under USB 2. I hope I’ll come up with something in time or find something based on LM 327, won’t it work?
There are new USB-COM cables in stores specifically for Win 10.
you need to take a Com-USB adapter, there are probably drivers on the network under 10k. ELM327 is an OBD-II diagnostic / If the car has such a connector, then, accordingly, there is no need to block any adapters and wires. You just connect the adapter, install the Torque Pro program on the phone and look at all the possible parameters there.
There is no OBD2 connector in my old Corolla, so I had to fence.

Now the link does not work, but you can drop your mail in a personal, I will send you a program
