Trip to Brest — logbook Toyota Land Cruiser 1996
To be in Volyn and not to visit Brest is a crime (well, maybe it’s a strong word , but there is something in it ...) Brest!
We counted about six people ... Here is our youngest fourteen years old - how is she? Does it count as one person or what? (SHUTKA)
It's good that our Japanese policeman is seven-seater and any sea is knee-deep for us!
Settled ...
Let's go!
Since the day before my brother-in-law and I drank a little, our eldest got behind the wheel! At the same time and practice!
But everyone went in, without a push. Your obedient servant is in the gallery!
The road from the district to the border took no more than 30 minutes. And her condition did not cause much criticism ...
The border caused more criticism. Or rather, the Domanovo-Mokrany crossing...
If the Ukrainian side let our international crew go without any complaints, the Belarusians did not greet us very cordially... We
fiddled with our Ukrainian relatives for a long time (they didn’t really say what the problems were).
And so, after half an hour of smoke breaks and "fun" conversations with the border guards, we set off.
Even more customs officers-border guards were struck by the Belarusian hospitable INSURANCE... For a Cruiser for one day it cost 17 euros... Or 670 Russian rubles... Since the minimum insurance period is 15 days... (damn, we were never even stopped and no one asked...)
I can’t say that the dorgi are too different from the Ukrainian ones. The difference is not big. Not great in terms of road surface, but in terms of information content - YES! And the markup, and pointers - everything is in place, everything is maintained at the proper level!
After 50 km, we crossed the international highway from Terespol (Poland) to the M1 highway and decided to drive from the back gate to the Brest Fortress, through the Volyn fortification ... We
left our vehicle at the entrance to the parking lot and then moved on foot ...
And we entered the citadel itself through the Kholm Gate!
Before us in all its grandeur appeared the main ensemble of the monument to the heroes of defense ...
To imagine for a moment what was going on here in the formidable June of the 41st, you just need to raise your head at the entrance and look at the brickwork ...
And from anywhere in the citadel you can see this grandiose sculpture of a warrior-defender of the Fortress...
And another no less famous composition with the defender of the Fortress
And a group photo in front of the entrance to the memorial complex!
Oh yes - they took a picture on the tank and under the tank.
A walk along Brest itself caused less emotional stress, although it was no less interesting.
On the square in front of the Museum, you can find many cars with Russian numbers, just like in the city itself.
We saw a lot of sights… Probably, it’s worth posting everything on a personal blog…
It remains to reveal the topic of boobs! :)
So - after Brest we stopped at one of the sandy lakes of Volhynia and there I asked our girls to try especially for the site!
(details in a letter)
The cruiser showed itself again from the best side!
Firstly: we all fit there in six. Secondly, we felt comfortable and cozy. Thirdly: no more than 13 liters per hundred square meters ...
Good luck to everyone on the roads!
