Hello from the past. — Toyota 4Runner, 3.4 liter, 1999

In August, I began to notice oil leaks on the left rear brake drum. The level in the bridge did not seem to fall. I consulted with the mechanic, wrote it off for a clogged breather and heat. After a trip to St. Petersburg in September, it turned out that a cord had broken on the left rear tire and there was a non-acidic vibration. The leak was attributed to vibration. 2 weeks ago, the vibration got, put winter tires. The leak remained. Bullshit question. I bought a complete repair kit (oil seals, bearing, abs rotor, retaining rings, etc), went to my friends Samodelkin, in order to puzzle them with the repair of the bridge. They promised to do it in a day. They did 2. They cursed badly with various obscene words. When replacing axle shafts, during the memorable great repair of 2007-2008years, some PID professional knocked out the inner oil seal not with a wooden punch, but with a chisel, which is why a gap appeared in the seal seat, through which the oil filtered. Half a day the seat was polished, the seal was adjusted, in the end, I still had to use a sealant.

for some reason, on Toyotas, oil seals begin to leak after replacement ... factory ones do not leak, but new ones (naturally bought ORIGINAL) flow ...
