Rally sprint Taganrog — Toyota Corolla Levin, 1.6 liter, 1996
Well, the 2010 season has come to an end. The last race of the open rally sprint championship of the Southern Federal District was held in the glorious city of Taganrog, at the local karting track.
This event, which took place in Taganrog for the first time, caused a great stir. There were a lot of spectators and, which is especially pleasant, there were a lot of participants. All classes were saturated with a lot of cars and crews of different levels of training and skill of pilots. Therefore, the race promised to be very interesting.
I, as always, because of the variable phases and chokes, got into class 2n. Where he considered his main rivals to be two guys that I know very well :). One for s2000, the other for rx8. I also did not discount the 160 strong uprooted 14th, with a very capable pilot behind the wheel.
On the day of the race, the weather was very disturbing, in the morning, during training runs, there was some kind of drizzle and the track was wet. For a very long time I puzzled over what kind of rubber to put (ad048 I have almost erased into the trash, on a wet track it would be Achtung). The result of all these reflections was the sun that came out at 10 in the morning and began to dry the track. Therefore, having put on semi-slicks, I leave for training, already practically, on a dry track. I try, the handle seems to be normal, the small gravel at the edges of the turns strains a little, but it is not on the trajectory, and you can get on it only by making a gross mistake.
The race starts. The main rivals go before me rx8 goes 2.08.4, s2000 - 2.07.8. I'm waiting for my turn. Immediately after the start, the box squints, with a crunch from the 3rd time I barely stick in 2nd gear, then everything drove neatly, but not at the limit, as we would like. As a result, I show the time 2.07.1, and after 2/3 of the participants who passed in our class, I find myself in 1st place. Having calmed down, I go to change shoes, keeping in mind only the infernal 14th :). As it turned out, the calmness was premature, not only did Anton drive on that same 14 just phenomenally bringing me 4 (!) Seconds from a circle, but also 2 dark horses, one on a charged pelvis (recently they have been worthy competition not only on straight), the second on the Civic brought me 2 and 3 tens, respectively. In general, summing up, I was satisfied with the season out of 6 races, two first, one 2nd, two 4th and one 6th places. In principle, the base is already there :) the boom to work further
