Suspension: Bilstein B4 Gas — Toyota Corona, 1.8 liter, 1993

Prologue

Even when buying, I noticed that all the shock absorbers were manufactured by KYB Excel-G, one rear one was leaking a little ... It was decided to forget about it, because the check for buildup took place without reproach.
After almost 2 years, I noticed that the car is no longer so briskly enters into turns. We must change!

Here one of the first surprises awaited me: according to many, the shock absorbers are changed in pairs. As well as brake hoses, pads, discs ... uneven wear will eventually affect the new part in a bad way.
There is a chance to simply kill the new shock absorber on the right, if the old one on the left does not cope with the load as it should. It's going to cost a lot, I thought. And I wasn't wrong.

The agony of choice

Reading reviews and articles led me to the following conclusions:

- the best choice is Koni. But firstly, they are 1.5 times more expensive than planned, and secondly, these are only cartridges, with which you also need to get confused.
- second in quality and efficiency - Bilstein B4 Gas

That's what I decided to order. I did not want to look at the kayaba. For the promised resource of ammortikov from the manufacturer is about 200,000 km, if not more. And they retreated less, and even were tough as a crowbar.

The day came when they called from the existentialist and joyfully said that they say take your good, take the money :) I took the
brand new Bilstein and went to install it.

Installation

As a result, a kapets was waiting for me …
It turned out that a certain sage (previous owner) changed the racks, apparently to contract ones. Breaking through the KYB catalog number - opppa! It turns out I rode on racks from Toyota Celica!

Mmda ... I had to go broke. I bought new bumpers, original oporniki, new anthers and the most expensive — springs.

Needless to say, after replacing almost the entire rear suspension, I happily noted that the car again rides like it’s on rails :)
As for softness, yes, Bilstein is still softer than Japanese KYBs, At the same time, there is no loss in control, everything is quite clear and consistent working.

if from the rear sight, then they have a stock of 22, but you can’t set the convergence, and the springs should have stood up like native ones.

UTB all 4 pieces cost 8t? I also think not to take it, we just have bad roads, are they collapsible already?
