By default, for running, you need to hold down the spacebar. In the control settings, it seems like there are explanations on this matter - what and with what to hold for running.

Set it to auto-run, on the keyboard it's the "X" button, then just run and press "F" before the cliff, it's a jump or you can rename the buttons to whatever you prefer to play!
