How to teach Ubuntu 10.04 to see exFAT?
Ubuntu 10.04 does not see flash drives formatted in exFAT. How do I enable support for this file system?Ryazancev
In 14.04, maybe even by default there is support for exFAT. I need such an option on 10.04.

Not an option. It is very necessary that the system sees a flash drive formatted in exFAT.

There will be a fresh version here.

The driver must be installed. It seems that there was already an application center, so you need to look in it.

Thanks, I'll take a look.

I would like to download the package separately, because on that computer there is no Internet and should not be.

Your distribution kit is old. So you need to ask on the Ubuntu forums, and English-speaking is better. In the same place, on the spot, you need to make sure that all the packages by dependencies are available for installation.

You have an old version of the distribution kit.
What's true is true. I popped it, it was, on packages.ubuntu.com, and there are no packages for 10.04 anymore. One hope is that there are some mirrors. I read that there is a certain fuse-exfat, but have not yet figured out whether anything is required in addition to it or not.
Updated 03/01/2016. Packages for legacy Ubuntu releases are hosted at old-releases.ubuntu.com. It's not so easy to find them there, but they are there.

In principle, this utility is essentially a driver. So it doesn't really depend on the shell and whistle deals. You can try to install new versions if you comply with the requirements of the CPU architecture and the kernel version - the latter can be a problem.
