Deep Modification Discussion (Overlord)

Programmers, people practicing modding closed-source games and just random passers-by are encouraged to discuss. Many people know about texmod and reshade, and this is not bad, quite enough to create a fan-made remaster, but can you go deeper? For example, on the Internet on one forum, I found a python script capable of pulling models, textures and animations from game resource files. But is there a way to somehow replace their content and expose the code? We discuss, suggest, try to revive the old game.

depends on the engine. if it's some kind of popular engine or a popular game, perhaps there are utilities that can unpack, pack game archives and open the format of animation and models.
method zhi techmode like this is a specialization on the ye4 engine because there were many different games on it. but the method of substitution in itself in this way is rather stupid and perhaps there are some problems that do not allow you to simply unpack and pack the archive back.
and about actually pulling out with one click as a screenshot of the models, the couple heard this, but it seems to be limited to 9dx and it's not entirely clear what exactly he will pull out. because there is no such abstract animation and shaders. in each engine it is different. in theory, you can close up a static snapshot of all vertices and the entire list of textures imposed on them with non-procedural scanning. in theory, you can probably even pull out the shaders (in fact, something like that is in the ENB who specifically for the game classes and activated reflections in the deus ex human, for example, maybe they were in the engine there) so that the water would work, but to put it back into the game .. .
so that nada to be cool hacker and programmer must glubokogou for modding

I am of course sorry, but the answer for me is about nothing. Let's just say that overlord is a relatively old game made on an unknown engine and needed only by a handful of people from a dying community. So it's impossible to talk about any existing utilities.
Texmod has nothing to do with ae4.
The program that pulls out a model with one click is a ripper, pulls out the whole scene at once, has nothing to do with moding.
Thank you, but I didn't know that for deep moding you need to be able to hack and write code. I am writing here just to get at least some basis of knowledge of what to do and where to go.
