Problem with Nexus Mod Manager, accidentally prevented the application from launching from Chrome (Fallout 4)

In general, I purely accidentally forbade the launch of the application and now I can not download mods directly to NMM. Those. I click on "Download With Manager" on the mod page and nothing happens, I was poking around in the chrome settings - I did not find "on". Of course, I can download them the old fashioned way and open NMM, but it's much easier to click in the browser and immediately have the mod in NMM.

Try resetting your settings. Settings -> Show advanced settings -> factory reset.

Now faced the same problem and found a solution.
You need to run NMM on behalf of the admin, then settings (blue gear), in the "os settings" tab, check the box next to "Associate with NXM URLs"
Now it should work.
