DDR2: Which to Choose
Hi, I decided to update the RAM in order to somehow still play games (the computer is mainly used for this, a couple of times a week).Specifications:
CPU: QuadCore AMD Phenom X4 9600, 2300 MHz (11.5 x 200)
Motherboard: MSI K9A2 Platinum (v1 is written on the board) (MS-7376)
Chipset: AMD 790FX, AMD K10
Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 (768 MB)
DMI BIOS version: V1.B0
What memory do you recommend and what do you say? Go for capacity or quantity?
The choice fell on G.Skill DDR2-800 4096MB PC2-6400 (Kit of 2x2048) (F2-6400CL5D-4GBNT) 2 sets of 2 strips, but I don’t know if it will fit the uterus, what will you advise and say?
PS I already know about hardware, but I need at least stable performance in the game (not new, mostly online).
dredlotas Come on
, you can take it. Maximum 8GB. Just don't take a noun memory, it's like a lottery ticket.
Most likely, they will be compatible with microcircuits, since these are the last mothers of the ddr2 generation,
and the memory is quite standard for ddr2 configuration as far as I understand. the choice of set 2 should be based approximately on the already installed memory with which it works. and there is probably the same 800mts and the mp will no longer be eaten
You can also put 1066 on the AM2 + socket, but it's not expensive and it's not worth it, but I don't see the point. I also wanted to ask in the manual for the card there is a dual mode 2 in a row, and logically one after one (the colors go one after one). Where is the mistake? And which chip should be in the memory? Probably I will not bother, but reading the forum I realized that I would be studying ...
it is written that from 533 to 800 ddr. the rest is most likely just as overclocking
about how it is installed in the slots, you need to read in the instructions what should be with the mp
