I have 5.1, as you already understood. I did not install any other modifications. I have not digested realisms since the days of RTV. All this realism is expressed in the fact that you can't hire any normal person. IMHO, dubious pleasure. Here, damn it, you rejoice at every new unit, and suddenly you put on realism and step on the throat of your own song.

The SS mod is good for many: this is a new faction in addition to the old ones, and new units. By the way, the units are not only from Kingdoms, there are also brand new ones. The generals have a lot of chips added.
But this is not even the main thing. The main thing is that the AI, it seems, began to behave rationally. Maybe it seems to me, I haven't played that much, but so far the impressions about the AI ​​mind as about its analogue from MTV1.
Finally, diplomacy has ceased to be decorative. In simple MTV2, I generally stopped paying attention to who I was in alliance with and with whom I was not. To the point, all the neighbors are still climbing on you like a zombie. At the same time, there are weaker neighbors with whom the AI ​​is at war, but it breaks the alliance and climbs to you. There seems to be no such stupidity in SS.
Of the jambs, I can note crashes when choosing a faction at the beginning of the game.
And, I have another strange jamb - there is no Aragon faction when choosing a battle, and I still don't know what units they have. Who played for Aragon, tell us, pliz, are they somehow different from their neighbors?

Are you talking about custom battles?
I have not played the mod, but the availability of a faction in custom battles is usually registered in the descr_sm_factions file (data folder) in the custom_battle_availability line. It is possible that there was not enough space for all the factions, so if Aragon is set yes, then set no to the other faction.

I did this - put the Russian original m2tw then in the registry changed the language to English and then installed the kingdoms mod after which the ss5.1 mods and ss6.1 on top and a couple more mods - changing the odds, animation of archers, burning corpses and all that: ) everything works fine :) all the fun is 17gig installation :)

Strange, I have one glitch - sometimes it throws out when choosing a nation. This is quite tolerable. Right now I'm using 6.1 + realism - well, just a bow to the creators. AI is smart (well, it is clearly not the same imbecile AI that is in pure MTV2), and this is the main thing. Now diplomats are not just for furniture, but alliances and international relations do mean something.

go to the game directory: " Medieval II - Total War roadtojerusalem data text", well, how did everyone understand I had such problems with the Road to Jerusalem mod , I select all the files and copy it somewhere, for example, to the C: drive, and throw files with the English translation in place of them. I launch the mod, choose a faction, start the campaign, save in English, exit the game. I paste the files with the Russian translation into the "text" folder back, well, now you can play the new campaign with the Russian translation.
