US Army counterparts? (Fallout 4)
The more I play for them, the more it seems to me that they are analogous to the US Army, only during the Civil War. With laser muskets, and clothes of those times instead of power armor. And their goals are similar - to protect settlements from raiders and ghouls.3 Comments

Not the civil war, but the times of the war of independence. The civilian militia (mainly from farmers, similarly in the game so) was created to fight the Indians and the army of Great Britain.
