The question of assembling a system unit
Good day to all.I continue to think about the prospects for upgrading the computer.
There was an idea to buy a separate motherboard + percent + vidyuhu for the same amount instead of a conditional system unit for conditional 40k and use the existing case, power supply unit, hdd, operative, drive. The power supply unit is old (as the computer of 2011 purchase already wrote), but the power of 500W, according to the power calculators, 500W is enough for such a config: 8-core amd fx series, video R7 370, 4x4GB ddr3, hdd and a middle-class motherboard. The profit is obvious: due to savings on power supply, RAM and hdd - more powerful percent and video. What are the disadvantages in your opinion? And in general, is it worth making such a manipulation.

No, there is practically no certainty about the components yet. It is important to decide whether there is a principle of expediency of such an assembly principle.

Well, the rest is already vidyuhu
Kosh13
percent 4 cores at 3.2 each , and for example
here 8 at 3.5 http://www.dns-shop.ru/catalog/i144411/processor-amd-fx-8320-box
there is a little overpayment - 8 by 4 http://www.dns-shop.ru/catalog/i158786/processor-amd-fx-8350-oem

and what about him? like everything is in order. even the availability of the shops correctly displays

I still have not displayed the video card section. Xs can work better for you inside the region.
I am not very good at amd processors, but as far as I understand by adding cores, they do not become faster.
And they have such architectures where 8 cores are only on paper. In fact, there are 4 cores divided into 2. Therefore, it is better to take the intel.
Kosh13
On this issue, I'll look at the tests again :) And we'll create a topic later separately)))
And what do you think about installing the CPU, vidyuhi and MB in the old system unit?
marshallugntu
I do not know
If the body suits you, why not.
Just check beforehand if the old RAM is suitable for the new motherboard.
marshallugntu
Yes. I myself thought to do this at one time. But even at the old prices, it turned out that at a cost of 15K per percent and my mother, productivity would increase by only 15%. I thought about it and decided that a piece for 1% increase is too expensive. Therefore, I updated only the vidyuhu.
marshallugntu
2 years have passed and still not the time.
Although we'll see. Maybe it's not time for you either.
Perhaps the processor still has some potential.
Kosh13 It
suddenly turned out that I have socket AM3 + on the motherboard))) That is, AMD percent of the FX-series can be installed without replacing the motherboard.
Model - GIGABYTE GA-870A-USB3 v.3 (according to AIDA64). I have an AM3 processor, so I did not think that the socket was a plus, but it turned out there it was.

The main candidate is amd fx-8350
CPU AMD FX-8350 (FD8350F) 4.0 GHz / 8core / 8 + 8Mb / 125W / 5200 MHz Socket AM3 +
http://www.nix.ru/autocatalog/amd/CPU-AMD-FX-8350-FD8350F-40-GHz-8core-8-plus-8Mb-125W-5200-MHz-Socket-AM3-plus_146975 .html
Now the main question - what vidyuha? In order for the power consumption of the system to fit into the 500W PSU
from the Wishlist - 4 GB of video memory, well, performance, taking into account power consumption.
marshallugntu is a
must! check whether the motherboard (bios) supports this particular percent, misunderstandings may then arise (the socket is not an indicator)
marshallugntu
500W is quite small by today's standards. Everything will be right there. Even an extra hard drive cannot be stuck in.
Consider a replacement. At least 650 norms will be.
marshallugntu
I googled your motherboard. You need the f5g BIOS version. F5f doesn't support yet.
