Small confusion with armor (Fallout 4)

There was a set of "leather armor" that covered the character at a minimum (only the shin was covered on the legs). Now I also found "leather armor" but it already completely covers the character (both the lower leg and the thigh are closed on the legs).
Will the armor models be replaced with leveling here, or are they different sets of armor, are they just called the same?
