Friends not being added in game (Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel)

I'm playing the epic games version. In the game I meet other players, they throw invitations to friends, but when I press accept, nothing happens (the button is just orange and that's it.). Registered in SHIFT thought it would help, but nothing has changed. How to be?
