Well, this is not an answer; (There are some detailed answers.

I got it. Usually this error occurs when players try to install add-ons on stolen copies of the game. Our add-on works only with the licensed version - it doesn't matter whether it was downloaded from Steam or delivered from the original disk (you will still need Steam to install it). The error is due to the fault of the pirates. We do not support stolen versions of games and do not provide assistance in troubleshooting related issues. Please buy a licensed copy
