Emptiness after the plot? (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt)

I mean, maybe it was worth waiting for all the DLC ("Hearts of Stone", "Blood and Wine")? and go through them .. and then go through the story?
Or are our (different) endings somehow reflected in the DLC? and the sequel makes some sense

Nothing, from the solutions in the 3rd part, is not reflected in the DLC.

Ie is it better to go through the DLC AFTER the plot?

M
Mantykora 11.12.21

Yes, all the options are interesting: after the plot and before ... For example, you have to go through, find out what Geralt will say to the countess BEFORE Vesemir's death, and will they tease Vesemir? You just need to gain a level ...

And after the plot, for any, emptiness ... And after the Witcher, all other games are disgusting (((

The Witcher 3 is a story-driven game.
Like it or not, his entire open world becomes dull and completely empty after completing the storyline.
DLCs save the day only temporarily. This poorly saturated empty open world will not go anywhere. How many DLCs you put.

agree
you need to play the DLC before the end of the main plot
and now the jamb ... the impressions are not the same ...
The game should not end with DLC but:

First, let's find out which period is affected by the "Blood and Wine" addition. Maybe it won't be intertwined with the main plot. And so, yes, there are some branches of dialogues and events (in the add-on) that open if you completed the main plot, and if you did not. I played hearts of stone after the end of the game, and I also wonder what comments Geralt's friends would make about his new mark, the same dialogue with the Countess about Vesemir, etc. And it's not interesting to watch someone's passage). But nothing, after the new year, you can do an alternative passage)

I deliberately left some quests and orders untouched, although my mind stubbornly resisted (the moment from "me, again me and irene", when Jim Carrey bludgeons himself), and the "new game +" mode should be tested)

There were also dialogues about Shani and the death of Radovid with the continuation of the war.

In Fallout and TES, the protagonist is impersonal - he is chosen by the player, such as freedom, but in fact, a complete emasculation of the personality, and behind Geralt there is a whole story, there are references to some elements of the past outside the Witcher 3. These are small details, but they are the cream of the game ... And since Geralt is a person, it is interesting to play for him, and Geralt's entourage is also a person with a history no less interesting than Geralt's.

I also like Fallout less, because I prefer melee sword fighting, close up. And TES (played only by Skyrim) - it is annoying that the hero is exceptional, a kind of superhero, dragon-born, godlike, etc. There are no other such in the game. Superheroes got it, to be honest. The same Dragon Age, without the hero the plot will not move, the world will rise, there will be a disaster.

And "The Witcher" Geralt is famous, stands out even among other witchers, but he is not the only one. And the world will not collapse if Geralt does not get involved in the murder of Radovid, in the salvation of the sorcerers of Novigrad, in the royal elections on Skellig. Everything will turn out differently, differently, maybe worse, but the world will do without Geralt. He owes nothing to anyone, the world can do without him. All he needs is to find his daughter and protect her.

BOEHKOM I tried
all the options. Nothing has changed.
The plot does not affect the DLC, and the DLC does not affect the plot.
It's like in Las Vegas - what happens in the DLC stays in the DLC.

Specially passed (and now in NG + I re-pass, already more closely,) Stone Hearts - for the first time almost in front of the most foggy island, now it is almost immediately after the White Garden)) A specialist with a mark on his face many times (according to the main plot) came up and to Triss and to Ian, and to others, there is no reaction at all .. Although in the first details about DLS like Geralt, Triss, and Ian will be asked to remove a mark like that .. In general, during the main game there are no mention of Hearts of Stone ...
so that there was some kind of mini-location of their houses, and there are some imaginary dialogues that imitate family life)) Other characters should also remain, with some minimal dialogues, such as "how is it on vacation, Geralt?" and so on))) In general, apparently, it was not planned that they would seriously continue to climb the world after the plot, which is an omission, since I was already a little bored with replaying, probably 6 times already, and I am sure that the next DLS I will definitely go through separately , if they suddenly do not make it somehow tied to the main plot ...

In general, developers can simply sit down on the production of DLS)) The popularity of the game is mega, everyone is trying to improve the engine with each patch (ha ha ha) in general, you can make some kind of endless series of games inside one, and even experiment with some kind of all the same links with the main plot, for example.))

After completing the DLC
Approach Vesemir in Kaer Morhen and talk;
Vesemir, I met your old friend
Yes? And who is it?
Countess, she left your armor, and now she collects others. She sends you greetings.
I'll have to visit her.
Everything, nothing else will happen. Then everything happens purely according to the plot, as if they did not say anything at all.

Oh yes, I deliberately ran to Novigrad to look at the flags of Nilfgaard and broke off ... I forgot to run to the nilf camp, but I'm sure they are all standing. And on Skellig there is no mourning for Crach an Krayt, how did Hjalmar survive after the battle with the Wild Hunt? Yes, and Geralt's women abandoned him somehow, even if they stayed with someone, Dandelion and Zoltan are in the Sage. And Geralt kind of drove off to Kovir with me.
In Novigrad, all the same vilify sorcerers and nonhumans. Where is Nilfgaard's victory?

There are no visible results of your ending after the final cutscene. And the DLC "Hearts of Stone" looks strange after the declared victory of Emhyr - "Black flags soared over Novigrad and Redania" and right there Shani works sic! ... in the Redanian army without Diistra and Radovid, which was allegedly defeated.

This is all, of course, details, nit-picking, the game itself is gorgeous. On the contrary, many details in the game are highlighted, there are even consequences of fulfilling orders - when you drive through Big Boughs, you can be told the consequences of your choice in the task where you need to find the hunter's wife.

Unfortunately, these DLCs do not seem to be part of the story.
They are illogical, if only as additional funds for the developers =) I
deleted the game and maybe I will go through the second time with all the DLCs BEFORE the story ends)

I think in the enchanted edition all the jambs and omissions will be eliminated, as it was in part 2.

After completing the storyline, the world in the game seems empty and lifeless. In my opinion, this is natural. In other games of a similar plan with an open world, the world is initially empty and lifeless, and after completing the game you do not feel that contrast as in The Witcher, when you seem to have parted with good friends and you will not see them again, or they will stand somewhere like Buttercup and repeat the same phrase =) Therefore, projects can release a series from add-ons. They have already hooked addicts-subscribers =)

I started playing the Hearts of Stone DLC before the ending. And then everything fits perfectly into the plot. There were also dialogues with Triss and Ian about the mark, and conversations in the DLS about the death of Radovid and Vesemir corresponded to what had already happened in my game. It's not for nothing that the DLC recommends level 30 or higher. The supplement is designed for the player to go through it in the second half of the story, closer to the end of the game, but not after the finale. Then everything falls into place. And the free play after the final was left simply as a bonus, for those who do not want to part with the world of the game. But the story is over, so no one is obliged to make changes to the state of the world. I agree it would be interesting to wander around and see the consequences of the ending, but it would be The Witcher 3.5. Enough told story in cut scenes in the style of The Witcher series. Game over, gentlemen. It's time to stop.

Nighthawkreal 11.12.21

Well, you give, free mode has nothing to do with the plot.

If you go after, then the dialogues will be different, for example, about Vessemir.
