Simon's Birthday (SOMA)

I noticed a discrepancy between the dates of birth of Simon. At the beginning of the game, he says that he was born on July 16, 1988. And when you find your recorded image at the station, then the date of birth is indicated there on July 31, 1989. I wonder if this is just a flaw or something means something.
