The difficulty of the game is too low. (Valheim)
Good afternoon, Vikings.I think the game lacks complexity.
All mobs in the game are too weak.
Weak in damage.
The game does not have such enemies that could swanshot the player. You can always survive up to 2-3 hits. Especially if there is normal food and cans. You can die in this game only if you climb on dangerous enemies such as a golem or a troll with 25 hp in the early stages. And if you use parry, rolls, or just mans away from the enemy at the moment of impact, then you can generally avoid damage. It is easy to complete the game without dying, this is not an achievement.
Weak in health.
Normal greydwarves have 40 hp, they can be one-shot with wooden arrows from a good bow and without stealth. With a pumped skill, you can almost kill 10 greydwarves in 10 seconds, or even kill golems by spamming wooden arrows. And if you shoot from stealth, then you can shoot the goblins with a wooden arrow. With an iron bow, skill, and good arrows, you can also one-shot star goblins out of stealth. All sorts of wolves and dragons are also easily one-shot out of stealth.
In addition, enemies can be stunned if you quickly throw arrows at them. A stunned troll can be hit with 2 arrows with double damage. If you use the mechanics of parrying with a round shield, then with an alternative attack of the sword you can one-shot anyone at all. In my opinion, in this situation, even if all mobs increase their health by 5-10 times, this will not make the game too difficult.
I would like to see a choice of difficulty levels in the game. At least primitive, by adjusting the health and damage of mobs. I would choose something like 5-6 times more health and 15-20% more damage.
If anything - an alternative attack of a bronze sword of 4 lvl per 100 lvl after parrying with a bronze shield is about 285-315 damage. For comparison, a normal draugr has only 100 hp, an elite draugr has 200. And a two-star elite draugr with 600 hp can be killed with just two hits of a bronze sword. Parry - attack, minus 290 hp, again parry and attack - minus 310 hp, 290 + 310 = 600, which means the enemy is defeated. The fact is that the alternative attack of the sword gives three times damage, and parrying with a round shield gives another x2.5. The total is something like sixfold damage. Iron damages around 385-425. And silver on undead can give about 800. Thus, even if ordinary draugr are given 5 times more health, they will die from two alternative blows of the bronze sword after parrying. A troll without amplification is one-shot from one blow with a black metal sword. And a copper knife with an alternative sneak attack on a troll may well give about 670 damage, while the troll has only 600hp. Previously, it was generally possible to single-shot him with silicon, but the knives nerfed from 10x to 6x out of stealth. And with an incendiary arrow out of stealth, you can swanshot even a savage.
The Troll is a good example. Good lvl 4 bow, high skill, and wooden arrow. The troll dies in three shots. The first sneak shot with triple damage dazes the troll for 3 seconds and deals about 260-270 damage, and during these 3 seconds you can manage to plant 2 more arrows with double damage of 170-185 each, as a result of which he will die. The troll is a very visible target, so the first shot will definitely be from stealth. And the rate of fire of the bow with the pumped skill will allow you to have time to plant 2 more arrows in those 3 seconds that he is stunned. As a result, even though the bows have nerfed the rate of fire now at 70-80 + level, you can quite easily kill trolls with three wooden arrows from a good bow. Well, with an iron bow, something like 430 + 290 + 290 is applied there
If you use a silver spear, then after parrying you can have time to throw 4 hits of 160-180 damage at a two-star elite draugr, from which he of course will die, tk. he has only 600 hp. But even if you give him 2400 hp, you can still kill him in 4 passes through parrying and then 4 hits for 165-180 = 650-700 damage. For 4 such visits, he will definitely die. But this is just a silver spear. And what will happen when the ferrous metal is introduced? But now you can use the halberd and parry it without a shield, and then manage to inflict 3 hits while the target is stunned. Her attacks hit roughly 230 + 230 + 460 for a total of about a thousand. Lox is even easier. Parry, then 2 hits with a daze of 230, then a third double-hit from a combo of 230 stuns him again, and you can hit 2 more times at 230.
In my opinion, the developers have broken something in the parry mechanics. Because now you can parry anyone and anything without a shield if you have a lot of health.
In general, if you have normal food, pump skills and understand how parrying, alternative and combo attacks, stun and stealth, and a little mans skill, you can humiliate anyone and anything. And give the mobs at least 10 times more health, it will not help them survive in the battle with a straight-handed Viking.
My opinion is that this game is too simple, so simple it is probably even 5-year-old children can go through without ever dying.
I would like to see the difficulty settings from the developers in the game. At the moment, adjusting the difficulty through the Players console command does not give what I need, because each player adds + 4% damage and + 30% health to mobs. Moreover, before the update it was + 40% health, but for some reason the developers simplified the game. And most importantly, it broke the ability to adjust the difficulty of mobs for normal players. The fact is that with players 18, mobs will have 6 times more health and 68% more damage. Because they will not have so much health, but the damage will be huge and there will be no use from the shields, and almost any missed hit will lead to a one-shot. I don't want to lose my skills at all. I would be happy with the option + 400% health and + 24% damage. But for this, the modifiers must be + 3% damage and + 50% health per player with players 8.
PS I heard about some brave Vikings that they tried to play on players 10 considering it the canonical maximum level of difficulty. So now it will give + 36% damage and 3.7 times more health. But in this situation, all greydwarves will receive 148 hp instead of 40, and they will still be shot from stealth with a wooden arrow from a good bow, because this arrow is capable of dealing up to 185 damage. And if you shoot fiery from stealth, then you can fill up a two-star with two fiery arrows. But an ordinary savage will start to demolish a character without armor at 40 hp, and in my opinion this is not cool, a couple of mistakes and you are a corpse.
...
Part two.
I am currently playing with the CLLC mod, made all enemies by default 5 times more health and 20% more damage. In general, it turned out stupid, tk. all sorts of ordinary greydwarves there perfectly fly off with three blows of a bronze sword, and their damage, as was weak, remained. But in principle, it became more interesting to play.
I also added 3 and 4 and 5 stars to the mobs. But here's the problem, from some kind of wild boar with 5 stars they will give 32 meat each, and this is straightforward in general cheating and free. So that multi-star status was not a freebie, but a test, I decided to change the health increase multiplier for a star from + 100% to + 200%. Thus, greydwarves received 200 600 1000 1400 1800 2200 health for 0 1 2 3 4 5 stars, respectively. But it turned out to be an imbalance between 0 and 1 stars, because the difference is 3 times, and any mob with a star is a problem. But otherwise it would have been 200 400 600 800 1200 1400, and then killing 4 and 5 star mobs would have been an easy task, but they gave a lot of loot. The problem here is that health increases by a specific percentage of the original value. And what would be needed to increase from the previous one by 70%, let's say. That was, for example, 200 340 580 980 1670 2840.
But just increasing health and damage to mobs is kind of stupid.
I would like the raids to the base to happen more often, much more often. Now they happen very rarely, almost once a week. It is so rare that many do not know about the existence of some events, such as, for example, the raid of nix and boars to the base.
I would like the raids to be longer. Now the raid lasts a couple of minutes .. If there are walls, then you can generally score on these raids, because until you grab a weapon and leave the house, this raid will end on its own. You no longer pay attention to these raids.
I would like the raids to be more numerous. For example, now only 5 trolls attack during an earthquake. I personally kill them all in 15-20 seconds, and that's it, the event ends. This is very dumb.
And in general, I would like to have more mobs in the game. And then sometimes you run running through the forest or swamp or mountains and you don't meet anyone at all, as if the game is dead and all the mobs are too.
I also want mobs with stars to meet more often. And now a two-star mob is very rare. Has anyone seen a two star troll or berserker? Many have not seen it even once in the entire game.
And why is it generally limited to all 2 stars? Why not do 3, 4, 5? Perhaps because now the loot is doubled for each star. And getting 32 meat from one hog is too cheating, and rather, on the contrary, will simplify the game rather than complicate it.
And I also don’t understand where the number 4 came from in the levels of weapons and armor. Why is everything limited to exactly 4 levels? Why not 5 not 6 not 7? What prevented you from continuing this business, so that the same iron bow could be improved further up to level 7? The main thing here is to keep the balance correctly, so as not to get imba for free, because digging a couple of boxes of iron is not a problem. Now the cost progression is 20 +10 +20 +30. You can continue +40 +50 +60. Or you can +45 +65 +95. As a result, the price of an onion with all the improvements would have increased from 80 to 285 iron. But when it comes to equipment, how can you save on this? Although I know some players who limit themselves to the first level, or swing up to a maximum of 2, that's all, and then they are just too lazy to dig metals.
In general, my opinion is that the game needs to be changed and made more complex. More equipment levels, more health and damage to mobs, more numbers, more star mobs, more stars to mobs, more frequent and longer raids.
I would also like some kind of complication of the game, depending on the days and nights lived. For personally, I was very upset when I learned that the days lived did not affect anything. Before that, I hoped that the number of days affects the chance of a mob meeting a star.
It's just stupid when all the enemies die with one arrow, or with a couple of spear jabs. Two-star goblins would have provided at least some entertainment. Although in the current realities I will even break up a two-star bersark in a solo in 10 seconds. Two-star goblins are more of a freebie gift of joy and happiness than some kind of complication. I will pair it, stab it with a black sword once and it will turn off .. This is straight stupidity of the 99th level. Mobs need to increase their health every 5, or better 10, especially for wild boars and deer who now have 10 hp, they can be killed with fists, why this was done I don't understand, if a wooden arrow without stealth can damage 60+
in the current realities. it is more of a game for children and housewives. And the genre is not a survival game, but a construction and decoration simulator. And monsters are not monsters, but just harmless decorations.
I finished!

Who is too lazy to read.
I am so round that I am naked with 25 hp and I am bending the plains with a flint spear. I need to make it much more difficult. I will give the mobs 10 times more health, 2 times the damage, 3 times the number, and so that everyone is 5 stars. But without mods, without cheats, etc., but in the game itself it was from the developers. So that everyone squeaks and cries from such difficulty. And I would have ponted in chats that I scatter all the enemies on the izi and never die at all. Everyone would respect me and pray.
