Movie (Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening)
Foreword
Sooner or later, I think this should have happened, nowadays the creation of films based on various games has gained popularity. Although perhaps this popularity applies only to directors, because a sufficient number of films shot for games have failed miserably. For example, the movie DooM, in which there is nothing left of the game except a couple of monsters, and BFG. Who finally came up with that movie about a terrible virus! But okay, one DooM, and there are many such films, of course it is worth mentioning Uvi Boll separately, but this is not what we are talking about now. Returning to the topic, why all the films turn out to be not like games, but from the fact that the directors are familiar with the game only by hearsay, well, or they know the plot a little. Films should be made by those who know the game, no, not the developers, but the fans. After all, only the most dedicated fan of his game knows everything about it, starting with history, and
ending with the characters of all the heroes. The task of the director in filming such films is not to think like fans, but to think like everyone else, because they make films for all people, even those unfamiliar with the game. But the task of the fan, as a director, is to take into account all the subtleties of the
film so that it looks like, for example, a video from a game. After all, such a film is intended both for fans who know the background and what will happen next, and for "ordinary" people who, after watching, may not understand everything, but they will like it, and perhaps they will even go and buy the game. This is actually what I would like to see, and I hope that I will see, a further feature film industry.
Tears of Sparda
Well, let's get back to the theme of the film. The film will be filmed based on the first part of the game, as it is believed that it was the most atmospheric. The film will be called Devil May Cry - Tears of Sparda, which means Tears of Sparda. Well, it sounds pretty impressive, but will it look that impressive? I hasten to please everyone except the fans of Uvi, the film will not be shot by Him! The film will be
directed by fans. But is it so good, of course the fans will put everything in order, but will they have enough money for spectacular special effects, computer graphics? After all, in such a film you cannot do without it. But they told everyone that they were making a movie
from "their own pocket", which, according to them, is quite large. They claim that they already have work experience, and such work is only a pleasure for them, although there are many problems, but they are confident that they will cope with everything and we will get a really gorgeous film. Eh, what these directors do not say, but let's not forget that they are also loyal fans of the Devil May Cry series, I hope they will not disappoint us.
Director, Actor, Fan
I couldn't mention the cast, there will be four main characters including Dante, Vergil, Arthemis, and Lady.
Well let's start with Dante:
Dante is the son of a mortal woman named Eve, and the Legendary Dark Knight Sparda, a demon who rebelled against his own kind 2,000 years ago and sealed the gates between the demon world and the human world. Half Human, half demon, Dante has amazing superhuman powers. He hates all demons, as he considers them to be responsible for the death of his mother when he was a child. Now he lives as a mercenary, but Dante does not do the "boring" job. He specializes exclusively in the supernatural occult field, or rather, Hunting and killing demons.
Dante is a demon hunter. In the film, he will immediately be presented as the cocky, confident and cool Dante, whom we all got to know and love in the first part of the game, which I and many others have heard quite a lot about, but he will also be mixed with the character traits from the third part; As a result of his demon hunt, his partner Trish died, Dante had to go through pain again. After she died, he changed the name of his office back to "Devil May Cry" and continues his "business" as before. In the film, Dante will be wearing a new costume that was specially designed for his actor, which will be similar to the costume from the previous parts of the game.
Dante will play Helio Frazao (Sakster).
Helio is one of Dante's biggest fans, and his naturally white hair, which he specially grew for Dante, and good acting in several films, make him an ideal performer of such a role. This guy is well
qualified in this area and that is his aspiration. As a military man, Frazao has extensive skills in the use of any form of combat and weapons: he is familiar with all types of firearms, and has a real idea of how they work. He also practices Parkour (a mixture of martial arts, acrobatics and athletics) in his spare time, and has acrobatic skills and continues to improve for the role.
Next on the list is Vergil:
Virgil is Dante's twin brother. Like Dante, he is half human and half demon and also has amazing powers. However, Virgil chose a different path. Considering that Dante specializes
in hunting and killing demons, Virgil wants more power, and unlike Dante, who disgusted his demonic side and the darkness in him, Virgil despises his human side instead. Virgil sees
his emotions as a disease constantly poisoning him, making him weak, incomplete and unworthy. In DMC3, he wants to find his father's power trapped in the demon world, and in the process he almost unleashed hell on earth. Dante stopped
ego, and not wanting to return to the human world, Virgil threw himself into the depths of the demon world, incarnating 9 years later as the demonic knight Nelo Angelo, one way or another under the control of the demonic emperor Mundus, also known as the Prince of Shadows. Dante then defeats him as Nelo and he disappears in a whirlwind of fire, presumably killed. But in reality, he was simply thrown back into the demon world, and is now free from the will of Mundus.
In the film, Virgil is rescued from the demon world and quickly continues his quest for power, seemingly not finding it while serving Mundus as Nelo. Cold, calculating and ruthless as ever, Virgil is portrayed in TTOS as highly loyal to his personality. He also reverts to his image, and wears a costume from the game. Which is slightly different from the custom made DMC3 costume for the actor. Each element of his costume is specially made and paid for, and naturally his costume has a bright oriental pattern.
He will be played by James Holyoake.
James is the director of the film and writer of the plot, but he also plays Virgil.
According to James - Virgil is his hero, a role model. James is a good actor, and has professional voice work in theatrical performances. He also studied English Literature, as Virgil speaks some words in obsolete form of English. He is also a huge DMC fan and has completed all 3 parts of the game. He is very prepared for this role. Like the previously mentioned Helio, James is physically fit (and also all the badass qualities for this role) And don't worry, he has the same hatred of
Virgil for Dante (as the performer of the role of Virgil naturally) which certainly does not interfere with the film in any way.
This will be a film about Dante, but Virgil will not be the main character, but his role will be decisive.
Artemis
Iain Alexander MacLeod
Yang is a very experienced actor, he even performed at the Royal Theater. He will play the role of a new character called Arthemis, who will be one of the main villains in the film. Unfortunately, no one says who he is, this is part of the history of the film, instead they constantly repeat what James said in his interview: he is closely related to the history of DMC and the rest of the characters ... Ian guarantees that his role will be very bright, most moments of the film you will remember precisely by the behavior of Artemis. He is a cursed, evil, terrible fighter. He also tries to convince us that the name "Arthemis" is not directly related to the weapon of the same name from DMC3. "There are only two things, so we tried and invented one!" Another additional note, to avoid all sorts of guesses and confusion: no, he is not a demon.
and completes this list Lady (Lady)
The girl who saw her mother fall violently at the hands of her father Arkham, a librarian who aspired to study the dark arts and become a god. As one would expect as a result of all this, he became a demon too. She left her true name, Mary, since then her father became her main target, and armed in his search for revenge, she destroyed everything that could get in her way. Driven by hatred and despair, she only wanted revenge. And the first time she met Dante, she saw in him no more than one demon. After observing his feelings for the loss of his brother, she realized that he was much more than just a demon. At the end of DMC3's story, Lady took revenge and parted ways with Dante. She even adopted the name "Lady", which she disparagingly told Dante in response to a question about her name. The lady will be older in film and will have, although she abandoned her character for reprisals, her hatred for demons will not fade away. And like Dante in, she will become a demon hunter, and will have 10 years spent fighting demons. The events from TTOS will unite her with Dante in the fight against a new enemy.
Rachel Lund will play this image
. Rachel is a professional dancer. She is the only cast member who was not playing in DMC when she joined the project, but James made her carefully review all of the cutscenes in the game, which contained a lot of material to contribute to her work. She also quickly fell in love with the playable characters, and the whole series too.
What will we get?
Here we can only guess about the plot and release date, while they are not particularly spread. And we, as in the case of Devil May Cry 4, can only wait. Let's hope our patience will be worth it.
