Control Issues (Saints Row: The Third)

I went through several missions in this game, everything was fine, but then the character started to "lag" or something: I press the key to run forward, hold for 3 seconds and release, and he runs for another ten seconds, and so on in all directions, then generally starts react with a delay while responding to the mouse normally.
