how to restore humanity (Dark Souls)

I play darksouls remstered, I don’t understand what to do when I approach the fire, what exactly needs to be done to restore humanity?

necessary that the humanity counter (where the xp bar) is equal to at least one, then you can restore the appearance by the fire. In the inventory, you can use humanity if the counter is at zero.
