Animal books, naturalistic literature

Being a big fan of the above genre, I'll try to stir up a dead forum with this topic. So, are there other lovers of such literature here? Who are your favorite authors? Maybe you can recommend something original?
Perhaps I'll start with myself:
Spoiler
Gerald Durrell is a universally recognized guru of naturalistics. Read the entire bibliography, except for a stoned book about a talking bundle and a story about Rosie the elephant. Although you can read about the elephant.

James Harriot is a rural veterinarian from England. Stunning stories from the life of a rural veterinarian "About all creatures ..." His first stories were wonderfully published by the Mir publishing house (translated by I. Gurova) in 1993 with comments and marginal notes about the mentioned dog breeds, recipes, and so on. I recommend checking out this edition.

Arnold Newman - "Lungs of our planet", a photo essay about the flora and fauna of the Amazon, as well as about the American natives. It is recommended to find the 1989 edition edited by B. N. Golovkin and E. V. Flint.

Farley Mowat is a Canadian biologist with heartfelt, funny and sad writing at the same time. Of particular note is "The Dog Who Didn't Want to Be Just a Dog".

Charles Darwin needs no introduction. "The naturalist's journey around the world on the ship Beagle deserves attention, if only because it is one of the earliest representatives of the genre. At the same time, it is interesting to read even after 2 centuries.

My beloved Maria Semenova has wonderful stories about dogs, sometimes to tears. The Zapashny brothers have a book "How We Train Dogs"

timtimH Jerry Durrell. That's all I wanted to say. I completely forgot Harriot - the veterinarian's notes, it was the case.

Vladimir Arseniev still - but I can only remember Dersu Uzala with him.

Well, and more childish - Seton-Thompson, F. Salten (this one must be chosen carefully - most of the works are porno novels, the uncle had to live on something).
