The video card is very hot in RDR 2 (Red Dead Redemption 2)

Even at the lowest settings, the video card heats up above 70 degrees. What could be the problem?

Amd Ryzen 2700x / RTX 2060 / 16 RAM.

Absolutely normal temperature for a video card. Especially in rdr.

poor cooling or dry thermal paste

how much higher? up to 90? then a lot
and so - 70 is a very good temperature under load (again - loaded at 100%? coolers in operation also at maximum?) As

far as I can see for 2060, the maximum safe operating temperature is 88
i.e. everything up to 80 degrees can be perceived calmly

, but RDR2 is a rather demanding game, it would be strange if the card did not warm up at all

Without details and accurate information, there is nothing to do here. Guess sit.
1. Video card model.
2. Video, or average, maximum, minimum:

3. Has the case been opened, is there a need for its maintenance. Cooler RPM (%). Dust is elementary. Room temperature. Availability of a guarantee for opening.
The burners have a good thermoplastic, and some kind of jetstream has nothing to do there. MSI most likely has a couple of years and flies off. The giga has no seals - it is carefully disassembled and inspected.
Inspection is always on point, especially with current thermal pads today.

The temperature was locked at 70 degrees, but by increasing the lock to 80, it warmed up to 80.
The load was not higher than 55%

The video card is about 2 years old, I personally removed only the cooler to drive a little dust. But the last time I cleaned it was a long time ago. Such heating is only in rdr2, it worries that even at the minimum it reaches 80 degrees

Personally, in my case, there was no more temperature than in other demanding games. The recent subway fired up the map in the corridor to 62 degrees. Usually 58-60. The same 62 in RDR2. So, if the temperatures have risen more than usual, the thermal paste has definitely dried up. Also check the condition of the thermal pads.
And so, above Denis mentioned setting the fan schedule. And minimum wages do not solve much, because there are no fewer personnel. You unloaded the map with graphics and loaded it with frames (a large amount of information). The work hasn't gone anywhere. If only you could limit fps.
And I remind you, it's like a blind kitten. Nothing is visible without video, photos. This is empty chatter. You can miss something. You do not help, but only wait for excuses, but there are plenty of them. If this is not a solution - add information, otherwise dosvidos. Otherwise, it turns out that there is a whole wall of another card in front of the video card, or the screws die, or the card is rubbish for cooling with a single fan, and you play by switching from RDR 2 to (roughly speaking) some kind of counter strike, etc.

Amd Ryzen 2700x / RTX 2060 / 16 RAM.

The obvious problem is that you play RDR2.
Stop playing and you won't have any problems!

Nobody writes about the fps limit, I have a 60 fps limit for all games, the temperature is lower and there is less noise.

The system should work. There is no point in saving. Although he may be. But even so. 2060 at high previously pulled, hardly reaches 60. There toko with DLSS. And we don't know permission. Premature note. And in the end.

This should be translated. What kind of lock is the power limit, tied to temperature. And how about 55%?

01001000 01101001 I
always use the limit of 60 frames. I limit the temperature through Msi so that it does not warm up above 70. FPS is always stable at 60 even when it already rests at 70 degrees. There is no load more than 60%

Unfortunately, I did not have such cards, but I would like to, because they are quiet and cold, and are highly recommended for mining in particular. But alas, dismantled, as soon as, so immediately.
What's with the thermal paste. no experience. But what is there in a well-ventilated case under a maximum load of 56-64 is a fact. So, if it doesn’t hit hard somewhere at 70 or more, like the author’s, in an open case it’s 56 degrees, in a closed case it’s 64, then enjoy further. Map thing.
