Like DeSpUt666, there was a bear nearby, and he killed the ghoul wounded by Geralt. Apparently, because of this (i.e., the GG did not kill all the opponents), the place was also not freed.
He came again after 3 days of play - both the bear and the ghouls were updated. This time I killed the bear in advance before the fight with the ghouls, then them - everything was fine "freed"
If you passed by, but did not clean up, but decided to return later, a bug pops up when you return - the enemy disappears. There are a lot of similar bugs in the game, which also occur: in mini-quests about captives (bandits disappear, the leader of which has the key to the cage) in deserted villages; nests of monsters (These bugs are infrequent (because we usually don’t pass by), but they have been found since the very first version of The Witcher 3 and still do.) In general, patch and patch ... oh yes, also hotfix patches.
