The game seems to be constantly holding down the button (Need for Speed: Underground 2)

When you go into the game and choose to save or change controls, in general, all the time it's like the down button is pressed. Reinstalling the game did not help, trying to install another one also does not help, although the game used to work fine before. I have Windows 7 64-bit.
