3 years ago I was looking for an answer to the same question, came across whether on the Facebook page or on the forum. This trouble is, many who use an aspect ratio other than 16:9.
When you select the resolution(in game settings) specify this ratio. So draw your own conclusions, I have solved this problem to share what I know, for sure. More anything I can not advise.

Unimaginable nonsense! Since the dinosaurs of the monitor is 16:10, in any game, had no problems with scaling.

See the settings on the card. The driver put on the monitor, if you are not. This problem is not in the games. Even in those games that don't support 16:10 and a lot of them especially the older ones, apsic video card to a normal resolution. Already wrote above, have not seen any of the game, neither old nor new, in which the monitor was given to normal resolution.

I look like a man who first time uses PC in all the games so there is a resolution of mine with a normal aspect ratio in PES and then suddenly not. This is a Japanese imbitsily they have such a long time watching. Was the old monitor 1400х900 and with it a similar problem in PES 2010, 2011

Tried all the permissions and everything the same. I have the feeling that the picture is one for all permissions. Even that was too lazy to do.
