I had the same problem. In the device manager turned off all the extra devices (the controller then was not) and the killer decided and earned.

Who doesn't have a keyboard - go to the device manager in the "HID Devices" tab and see if there's anything else connected besides the keyboard and mouse. If there is - for the duration of the game turn off.
