the video card is heating up

video card AMD Radeon R9 380, bought 5-6 years ago, ... on fallout4 it heats up to 80-82 degrees, sometimes during the game a solid dark screen suddenly appears, no buttons are clicked, turning off the computer only by unplugging it from the outlet, .. removed the video card, cleaned it from dust, blew it with a hair dryer, cleaned it as best I could, ... removed the side cover from the computer, until it helped, only the appearance of the described dark screen may become less frequent ..., ... what else can be done ...

Change the thermal paste and see if the cooler is spinning on the video card.

PS and you have the location of the bp from the bottom? under the veil? if so, it would not hurt to disassemble it and clean it too.

Try to adjust it through MSI Afterbuner. Sometimes I also began to notice that the valves are turning halfway.
A vivid example of this

5-6 years is your answer.

The map is old, has seen everything. It must have been serviced for the first time in 5-6 years, but only in terms of dust.

Logic. Causal relationship. Where was he 3-4 years ago, when it was necessary to look at the state of the map. And even more so after 3 years. And as a result, 5-6 years, when everything is dry and flies away in protection from overheating.

And this is also in the piggy bank. Causal relationship. When I cleaned it, I fried it with a hairdryer and it became less frequent.
You need to completely sort out the card - screws, thermal paste, thermal pads.

I've never seen a lot of dust on video cards. At least on my own. True, I saw clods of dust from the XFX4890. She seemed to spit them out

... how to understand "flies away in protection against overheating", i.e. it will not explode or burn out, and the maximum of the bad is the above-described dark screen ...

When my RX588 overheated due to incorrect selection of thermal pads, then yes, the computer flew into a black screen.

It all depends on the location (there is more dust on the floor), the cleanliness of the owners, the presence of pets (which give a lot of wool) and the environment. There is enough dust everywhere, especially in more or less industrial sectors. And then 5-6 years did not touch. This is not even the point, but high paste and probably thermal pads (they still flow from high temperature). He has an excess of at least 10 degrees.

Everything wears out, breaks down and has running hours. And all this contributes to the person. High temperatures shorten the service life.
