Freeze timer in DLC (steam version 1.5) (Mafia 2)

It's terribly annoying, constantly playing dlc for a while, how can I turn it off? I want a measured life in Empire Bay, and not constant running around, maybe some kind of cheat, I have already tried a lot of trainers, does anyone have a stable and definitely working one? In general, either the game crashes when the freeze timer is pressed, or nothing happens at all.
