GTX 9xx

Who is the owner of this series, tell me - is it worth taking? What is its performance? I heard that there is almost no difference between 7xx and this series. Is it so?

more than 30% difference

The difference is significant thanks to the new architecture based on Maxwell, and 700 on Kepler.

The difference is increased by the fact that games are no longer optimized for Kepler

I have a 970 from MSI, I am very satisfied, the performance is satisfactory, the card is very cold and quiet. But I switched to it from the Radeon 4850, which burned out after 5 years of service.

There is a difference. Dx12 again. However, I would wonder if it's worth switching from 7xx. Moved from 560Ti. But with 7xx... Perhaps the next generation will be on a new process. And this is a significant performance boost. Again, 9xx does not fully use DX12. There, a couple of goodies are only emulated. In general, 7xx is not critical. You can wait. There you look and DX12 games will start to come out.

No. That is, yes, this is one of the reasons, but not the main one. Maxwell is faster, more economical and can run at half the resources of Kepler. If the HARDWARE wants to switch from 700 series, then of course it's not worth it, let Pascal wait then. Well, if below, then there is already a choice.

Alex0493 It depends
on which video card from the 700 series you want to switch to and which of the 900. Between 780 and 980 the difference is 30% or more. Well, in the 900 series there is full support for dx12, but when games with dx12 start to come out, these cards will already become obsolete

At the moment I have a GTX 650)) So I'm thinking of switching to 9xx right away or not in a hurry (see how the 9th series will develop), but switch to 7xx for now.

It doesn't make any sense at all. How much money do you have?

the development of the 9th series has already been completed by the 980ti. maybe of course nvidia will still release 2chip but it's hard to believe and it will be too late. therefore all cards and their performance are known.

From 10k to 15k I am guided. More expensive toad strangles)) And it's pointless.
