Where did the NPC signs go? (Dark Souls 2)

Where did the NPC signs go? (For example, the wizard on the boss "three golden morons") I see players, I play with them, but there are no NPCs.

If you defeat the location boss, then all large signs will disappear, including NPC signs. So if the location bosses are defeated, then there is nothing to be surprised at. Only small marks remain. Also, after defeating the boss, an effect similar to the burnt humanity is activated, which makes it impossible to see any signs for 30 minutes (in this location of the fire, of course).
