DLC for PS4 (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt)

Actually, the question is - are dlcs put on the curling iron together with the next patch, or should they be installed somehow separately?

Hardly, of course, though... I have checkboxes everywhere in my content autoload settings, including sending saves to the PS-Plus database. However, until I mechanically (with my toe or hand) request the game / application to be updated, what the hell is downloading.

Actually, if you're talking about DLS. You need to download them separately. You go to the Witcher page in PSN and download.
