There can be a lot of reasons from lack of power to problems with the motherboard, memory, video cards, etc.
if the computer is relatively new, most likely it is either a lack of power to the video card or to the motherboard. or other glitches tied to the memory and the corresponding controllers.

is there a built-in video card? try turning it off. and start the computer.
