Last fight in the game (Overlord 2)

Before the start of the battle with the Empire, depending on the lady, we are given certain animals.

But having gone through the game many times, I saw practical benefits only from wolves (jump over a couple of gorges, get a crystal). But where can you use the abilities of spiders and salamanders? I don't think I've ever noticed anything like this.
