I got rid of pirate crashes (after clicking on continue the game and other random crashes during the game) by changing the game interface to English in the uplay_r2 config file, which is located in the .exe folder of the game. There, in the Language = line, return en-Us if you changed it to ru-Ru.
Enabling the swap file by system selection and increasing its size did not work for me, but you can try if changing the interface did not help.
