A few years ago, I stumbled upon a pickup truck that had bright taillights unlike other stock and modified vehicles. Gradually, I was able to learn and learn what this effect is and how to put it into the game. In short, the type of lighting is taken, like street lamps, and this bright point is mounted in front of the headlight and will be tied to the car as a dynamic object.
And then, I decided to experiment with standard cars from the Mafia game. Gradually, I not only changed some of the effects functions of the car, but began to add new details, such as wheels.

And then the moment came when I wanted to do something more, of course, an envelope from scratch and on my own. Having studied the file hierarchy and what is responsible for what, by trial and error, I managed to make my first envelope.
It was based on a 1940 Ford convertible with a raised top from the game: "Need for Speed ​​- Motor city". According to the release date of the game and the quality of workmanship, the machine was approximately the same age as the Mafia and its quality. Which simplified the envelope and made it easier to learn the functions along the way. As a result, old developments made it possible to add new wheels, bright marker lights. And the textures were tweaked in Photoshop, as there were almost no color options. The model itself on polygons made it possible to make opening doors and flying off bumpers, of course, glass was breaking. The output turned out to be an authentic car that could fit into the game and revive it with new effects.
There were 4 body color options to choose from + a bonus one from the NFS itself.

The work did not stop there, several workable "blanks" were made, which were tested in the game and defects and flaws were eliminated along the way. Another classic car from Need for Speed: Motor city is the 1947 Cadillac Series 62. By the way, the car also fits organically into the Mafia game:

From the sold, Cadillac has three regular colors and one bonus from "Motor City" itself. The wheels are also taken from the game Mafia 2, and the radiator grille is duplicated and the back wall is "blind", and the front part has become voluminous with slots. The front fangs have the function of a bumper, since the front of the car is more contact when driving. The salon accommodates two people, the windows break, it is possible to enter and exit the salon thanks to door fragments. Like a Ford, there is smoke from under the hood, exhaust smoke from the bottom, headlights falling on the road at night and other basic things. Of course, not everything was completely corrected, but the model is absolutely functional and was tested in several modes.

The effect of bright lights went to the benefit of the model, indicating its dimensions on dimly lit sections of roads:

Perhaps the most coveted and unique model of its kind can be called this battered 1948 Chevy with a farm truck body. A simplified version was found somewhere on the net, the author of the 3D model: Renafox. The main feature is that this is a scanned version of a real car modified by the author. Its condition in terms of polygons made it possible to make windows and bumpers separate parts. But the flat tires of the original had to be replaced with a simplified model from the Mafia 2 game, since they are universal, since with the initial envelope they consist of a disk, a tire and a cap. This allows you to make combinations with some wheels that are unified with each other.
