Story in New Game+ (The Evil Within 2)

Passed the main game, gave all sorts of bonuses, they say, start a new game +. I started, everything is the same, the completed story, only with all the improvements earned. Is it so intended? They didn't even increase the difficulty! Or did I go wrong somehow?
