The wiki also confirms such infa that nothing is known about him. Moreover, after defeating him, you can find in his, I note, chic chambers, a book of bloody rain, which is unique, it is really one. It turns out that Arivand is not a person, but, most likely, one of Adramallih's close associates.1 Comments

1) Larians love disposable characters (especially if you remember the first divinity)
2) It's no secret that masters use necromancy
3) The book itself is not unique at all. It can appear as a quest reward, be sold by a merchant, found as a random item in a crate, and of course can be crafted with an empty Necromancy Book + Blood Rain Scroll or Necromancy Book + Hydrosophist Book
But the theory is quite interesting, despite the fact that that Adramallih's associates are mostly demons.
