Why is this game so popular on Steam?

This is a clone of binding of isec with only 4 weapons, 10 hour campaign and 0 replay value. And then I saw it on steam, and 90% of the reviews about it were like "OMG this game is GOTY! I've never seen such a hardcore before!". At the same time, this forum is chock-full of posts and discussions, all about game issues. What's happening? Why is a game that has so little to offer so positive?
